The City of Anderson received a Hometown Economic Development Grant from the Municipal Association of South Carolina to fund a downtown limited-scope master plan branded “Shock this Block”, as a derivative of the City’s legendary moniker “The Electric City.”

We have partnered with Arnett Muldrow & Associates, a SC urban planning firm that focuses on town planning, community branding and economic development, for the project.

After a series of public sessions, design cherrettes and online surveys, design professionals from Arnett Muldrow and City staff will reveal the final draft of an urban design plan to benchmark the possibilities gleaned from public input.

“Shock this Block” has provided an opportunity for the City of Anderson and its citizens to pursue strategic growth and visualize success. Nearly 1,000 citizens have been engaged in the process!

We invite you to the Final Draft Reveal June 18th from 5:30-7pm at the Economic Development offices located at 102 N. Murray Avenue.

Parking is free in the Whitner Street parking garage.
